Husband tried it out today !!

Posted by Melanie on Aug 18th 2006:

" Tonight, my husband tried out the pouch at the mall with our daughter
and she let him wear her :-) She fell asleep instantly and we had
several people ooh and ahh over the fact that she was being carried by
her daddy. He's 6'1, average build, and the medium was just fine for
him. He liked the fabric colors (peacock green/chocolate), and the
fact that she was closer to him (the fabric wasn't as stretchy as
others we've used, so the fabric "not giving" is a plus for us). Our
babysitter was intriuged by the sheen of the fabric.

Sag Test

Posted by Chelsea on Aug 31st 2006:

"I spent 45 min. yesterday afternoon attempting to bring on the sag. I popped
him in (16 1/2
lbs) hip carry and we danced to a music cable channel. We jiggled, we rocked,
we bounced,
we swayed, we spit up - we had much fun. ;)

Well, I really can't tell much of a sag. I mean, I'm short anyway and all
pouches/slings sit low,
and this is no different. I don't see much of a sag.

I did get a lot lot lot of spit up so I'm a' washin' right now.

:D"

Washing !!

Posted by Chelsea on Aug 30th 2006:

" I washed on Gentle Warm/Cold. Dried on Low for about 10 min. Came out great!
No Iron
this time. Or probably any time, heh."

Beach Test

Posted by Victoria on Sep 2nd 2006:

" Just wanted to let you know that I am really enjoying the pouch and reach for it
all the time.
While I do experience the sag as Vincent (7wks/12lbs) falls to deep sleep, it is
still rather
comfy. Went to the beach and got splashed with sea water, pouch did not
discolor and dried
super fast. Perfect for a long walk on the beach and kept Vincent out of the
sun. Great to
just grab and go with no hassles. Still haven't been able to get my 2.5yr old
to give it a whirl
but when I do, will let you know.

Got my Pouch ...

Posted by Stephanie on Sep 13th 2006:

" ...and I love it!

The colors are very nice! I do enjoy the sheen of the fabric, and
I'm impressed with how lightweight it feels. I like that it has an
element of elegance to it.

I will admit that although I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE both colors...I did
get a small feeling of 'Christmas' when I first saw it. However,
once in natural light...I grew to love the color combination even
more that I thought I would! It's perfect for the fall/winter.

I tried it on when I first got it, and I think it is pretty
comfortable (more comfortable that my Hotslings pool pouch)...BUT I
think it may be a little big. I think my HS is big too?

I did have to switch to my wrap when going for a long walk because
it was starting get uncomfortable...but maybe that has to do with
the fact that it's too big? How can I tell if it's too big?

My son (7 months) seems to really like the hip carry in this pouch,
moreson than any other one he's been in."

Whatta great pouch !!

Posted by Melina on Sep 12th 2006:

" Hey all! I got my pouch yesterday and finally got a chance to wear it
today. First of all, the fabric is awesome! My DD looked so cute in
it! Its comfortable and fashoinable... The stiching looks great. My
little one is about 14lbs and 7.5 months. I am prego again (-: so as
I grow I will let you know how it grows with me."

Got My Pouch !!

Posted by Liz on Sep 18th 2006:

" I finally got my beautiful pouch today. I just love the maroon/olive
combination. It's wonderful for the upcoming season, as it looks
particularly festive. I thought it looked like a shallow pouch folded,
but once I put my baby in, it came all the way up to his neck, so I
was able to nurse him in it really easily. YAY!

I only used it for about 20 minutes -- a few while my DD was playing
outside, and then nursing my DS inside until I was able to sit down.
Until he started nursing, he chewed on the fabric next to his face a
bit, and the drool dried quickly without leaving a mark. His other
pouches get soaked if I wear them too long from his drool, so this is
a PLUS!"

Fit !!

Posted by Cortney on Sep 8th 2006:

" AYesha-
I have a Lucky Baby and love how convenient the pocket really is for
hands free popping in to the store however..... I still prefer my CJ.
My CJ M/L is the exact same dimensions in every way to my Lucky Baby
medium. They are both two sided but my CJ is so much more soft and has
a little give in it. It really makes a huge difference in the comfort
of it on my shoulder. I still wish I had a few more of these so hurry
up and get on it :)
Thanks

Feedback !!

Posted by Brittany on Sep 18th 2006:

" Ayesha,

I haven't been able to keep up with all the posts as I'm still adjusting to life
with a newborn
and toddler. Honestly, I don't know how you do it.

I used the pouch with my 3 wk. old a few times now. He doesn't like the head up
(under
the fabric) position. Instead he likes to be head near the opening (near the
seam) instead.
(newborn carry) So, I've been carrying him like that. I think he likes it
because I use my
ring sling a lot, and that is his normal carry in there.

So far the fabric is comfortable. We reversed to pistachio out since it was a
little cooler and
I like that color better with my outfits.

Okay, gotta run. The 2 year old is fighting his nap!!!!!!! Argh.

With a 30 pound Baby !!

Posted by Beth on Sep 19th 2006:

"Hi Ayesha,
Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate right now; I hope things
continue to improve for you.
So... I love my pouch! I ordered a M/L and it fits me perfectly. As
you know, I make and sell my own slings, and the fit of my CJ is
very, very similar to what I have made for myself in the past (after
several incarnations of my pouch, I finally got it down to a
science!). So, I'm thrilled with the fit.
The fabrics are gorgeous, I love them! I haven't washed the sling yet, but my son has drooled copiously all over the wine side, and no staining!
I think the fabric is gorgeous.
Again, overall I'm very happy with this sling. We have been using it
for at least 30-60 minutes a day since Friday, and I haven't noticed
any sagging. Drew is nearing 30 lbs, so his tolerance for being in
the sling is not what it once was, but I look forward to using this
sling with a smaller child (future niece or nephew!) as it is whisper-
light and very comfortable.
Thanks so much, and good luck to you!
Beth and Drew "

Endurance Test !!

Posted by Melissa on Sep 21st 2006:

" I will be taking DD to the American Baby Expo this weekend and plan to
take both my Didymos wrap and my Comfy Joey pouch. I will likely
start out with my pouch and see how it holds up through a long day of
walking around. I have back problems, so I will have to have my wrap
as a back-up in case my back starts bothering me. DD also loves to
lean back and go reaching for things, so it may end up that a wrap
where I can "contain" her a little more way be better suited. I'll
just have to see. I can't wait to see how it works for us and what DD
thinks of it while being in it for a good amount of time so hopefully
we can at least use it half the time we are there.

When I put DD in it last weekend she seemed really content in it. She
was gnawing on it and drooling all over it and I didn't notice any
staining on it. I will check my seams soon and let you know. I'll
try to inspect them good before and after the wash that I must give it!

I can't say enough how much I loved the colors out in the sun. They
were gorgeous. This sling has such a different look than my Hotsling
which is much more casual. I think this pouch can run the gamet from
casual to dressy...what a plus!!"

Picking Green Beand in a CJ !!

Posted my Melina on Sep 23rd 2006:

"

Well, DD and I went to the farm yesterday and picked green beans in our CJ! I was extremely comfy and so was she. Green bean picking is back breaking and the walk is so far back and forth to the field. The pouch in hip carry position proved, yet again, to be even more comfortable than a stroller. I own a KKAFP and a baby bjorn and now go for my CJ every time. It's so much more convenient for travel as well. As for the sheen, YES Ayesha, it is like silk. This is great because it gives you the option to go dressy in it as well. I did that the other day and looked very cool!

Red/Silver CJ Pouch !!

Posted by Diane Pepin on Sep 24th 2006:

"Ok So I have been using it relentlessly
I LOVE the feel the size the sheen and everything
It is SO classy
And it is by far my most elegant, even though I have beaded pouches, and they are extravagant, and drop dead sexy. The silver/red oozes class and sophistication

Anyway More later.

Qualities of the CJ reversible Pouch !!

Posted by Carolyn Brace on Sep 24th 2006:

" I would say it cleans really easily, dries easily, and is comfortable.
I bake in mine all the time and DD gets food all over it, but I just
throw it in the wash and it's ready to go. OH, and any wrinkles come
out within 5 minutes of wear. :)"

CJ Beach Trip !!

Posted by Tara on Sep 23rd 2006:

" A couple of weeks ago we took the children to the
beach. The only carrier I had with us was our CJ
pouch. Last time we went to the ocean, dd (21 months
now) enjoyed playing in the sand and "dancing" in the
water. This time, however, she was terrified! We
tried to swim a little, but she'd have nothing to do
with it. So I pulled out the CJ pouch, which I
brought along for ds (3 months). I popped dd in it,
and she felt much more secure. We were able to wade
into the water a little more. And the pouch was
perfect after a wash (mostly b/c it was caked with
sand!). DD enjoyed playing with it in the sand
afterwards!

Sincerely,
Tara

The CJ Camping report!

Posted by Liz on September 25th 2006 :

" Hello all! We just got back from a camping trip, and I brought three
carriers with me, since I knew DS would need to be held a lot. I use
my CJ when we got there, while we were setting up camp. It fit much
better over the clothes I had picked out for cooler weather.

I took my daughter for a nice walk, with DS in the CJ, and all three
of us were nice and happy, exploring the campground. I was a little
worried about using it camping, because it's so beautiful, but it held
up great. I did use a Mei Tai carrier later in the trip when I was
trying to get DS to fall asleep, b/c I haven't been able to get him to
sleep in pouch-style carriers lately. But it was just that one and the
CJ that saw use during the trip.

The interesting part was that, although everything we took with us
smelled like campfire, the CJ pouch was the one exception. I did not
need to wash out the scent of fire when we got back today. I thought
that was pretty cool.

So thumbs up on the camping report!!!"

Grocery shopping today

Posted by Melanie on Oct 1st 2006 :

" We went grocery shopping with the CJ today. My almost 4 month old
daughter was carried in the CJ while my husband and son managed the
cart. My daughter fell asleep in the CJ! She hardly ever falls
asleep when I wear her, and I didn't want to put her in the car seat
to go home...

Another thumbs up for this pouch!

Posted by Alison Hori (TBW momtotwinsplus2) on Oct 4th 2006:

" So, I have been playing with my pouch for a bit now. Like many
others, I would say that it is a hair big on me but workable. I like
the little sheen to the fabric and the amount of stretch it has and I
love how soft it feels. I think that the thinness of the fabrics is
nice for keeping the pouch cool but not ideal for older toddlers...my
3 year old did not find this a particular comfortable pouch. I find
heavier weight fabrics or leg padding matter to him while they are
pretty unnecessary for my almost 8 month old. The depth of the pouch
seems great to me...not too deep but a bit on the deeper side...I
think it would still be fine with a newborn without burying them in
there but is also a nice depth with an older child. Mine is
brown/teal and is a lovely fabric combination...very attractive and
fashionable, IMO. I think this is a really nice basic pouch and I
would recommend for that. I think some embroidery or a decorated
pocket would make it stand out more as a unique or special product
but I am not sure that is really necessary...might be nice to have a
couple of "limited edition" pouches that would draw some attention to
the product. I think the fabric is really a lovely choice.

Spreading Comfy Joey love

Posted by Gen on Oct 6th 2006:

" Hi everyone! I just got back from a trip (dh's 10 year college
reunion) and wore dd pretty much constantly in my CJ all week. I was
amazed my all the moms struggling with strollers -- hiking the rocky
terrain of colorado between the parking and meeting areas, and
carrying up stairs in the football stadium. I was even MORE amazed at
how few people had EVER seen a pouch or sling. The only other baby
carrier I saw was 1 baby bjorn (and dh said, "wow, compared to the
pouch, that just looks dorky!", lol) So I told many many mommies
about Comfy Joey. :)

Besides my anecdote, I wanted to add that my CJ held up beautifully.
There was minimal sagging even after HOURS (5+) of wearing DD.
Carrying my diaper bag was much more a pain in the butt (er, shoulder)
than carrying dd after all that time, too! And after a ton of washes,
it still looks great. Formula-spitup didn't leave a trace, nor did a
blurb of tomato sauce (sigh, I am as bad as my 4yo).

That's about it!"

First Feedback !!

This Feedback was from Kirsten Walters (TBW kirstenclare) on Aug 10th 2006 :

"I think it is great. I know some mamas are partial to natural fibers but I'm just not one of them. I have to say, every pouch that has been 100% cotton was just not that comfortable. When I first saw the pouch -- if you recall, I wasn't able to try it for a day -- I remember thinking this fabric has seems durable and probably won't winkle. It also seemed like it wouldn't fade -- I've had several carriers (2 of which were pouches) that faded or had ink from the print rub off. Not a big deal and doesn't affect the performance of the carrier, but is annoying nonetheless. This is especially true when I try to limit washing it to limit the fading. When DS was a newborn, he spit up all the time and I didn't want to use things that were a hassle wash.

When I used the pouch, I again really noticed the fabric. It molded around his bum so he was supported all they way around but he didn't get too hot. I don't think he sweated or if he did it was wicked away. We were sitting outside in Georgia heat in the afternoon. In my cotton pouches, normally when I pull him out, his bum and legs are damp enough that I think his diaper leaked. This didn't happen with your CJ pouch. Granted, I only had him in for about 15 minutes but we were OUTSIDE. I'd never try this in my hemp-flannel pouch.

And it can be dried! Always a bonus. I am tried of having to line dry all my cotton pouches for fear that 1/4" shrinkage will render them useless. And I am always scared that my husband is going to dry one by mistake.

I can say confidently that I love the fabric! "
